At Fletcher’s Green Community Park, Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South, announced a federal investment to support a new active transportation project at Sheridan College. MP Sidhu made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities.
The Government of Canada is investing $360,000 through the Active Transportation Fund to enhance safety and accessibility for students, staff, and visitors at Sheridan’s Davis Campus. Sheridan College is contributing an additional $240,000 to the $600,000 project.
The project includes widening a 180-metre stretch of sidewalk along Sheridan College Drive, building a new separated bike path, and installing lighting and benches to improve safety and comfort. It will also include the addition of three secure outdoor bike shelters, encouraging more people to commute by bicycle and adopt sustainable transportation habits.
This investment is part of the Government of Canada’s ongoing commitment to building healthier, more connected communities through sustainable infrastructure.
“Investments in active transportation, like the new bicycle path along Sheridan College Drive, help build safer, more connected communities.
