Today, MP Sonia Sidhu joined her federal colleagues in a productive meeting with Mayor Patrick Brown and the City of Brampton to discuss how the federal government can continue its
leadership in Budget 2025 to build a better, safer, and more inclusive community for all Bramptonians.
MP Sidhu emphasized her priorities for Budget 2025, which reflect Brampton’s growing needs and potential. She advocated for continued federal investment in chronic disease research—
such as cancer and diabetes—through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, recognizing the importance of advancing health outcomes for families. She also highlighted the need for
inclusive community infrastructure, citing the proposed Embleton Community Centre as a vital project that would offer modern, accessible spaces for recreation and connection. Additionally,
she underscored the importance of strengthening Brampton’s health care system by supporting Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Medicine, which will help train the next generation of
medical professionals and expand local care capacity.
“Brampton is a fast-growing city with incredible potential,” said MP Sidhu. “Budget 2025 is our opportunity to deliver investments that improve health outcomes, build inclusive community
spaces, and support the health research that will benefit families here at home and across Canada.”
“By working together with our city, province, and community partners, we can ensure that Budget 2025 delivers the investments Bramptonians need and deserve,” she added.
