As Parliament concluded its fall session, Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South, reflected on the government’s progress in strengthening health care and investing in communities like Brampton.
“This fall, we have taken important steps to improve access to health care for Canadians,” said MP Sidhu. “We are simplifying the residency pathway so that more Canadians can access a family doctor, and we introduced the Personal Support Worker (PSW) tax credit to support those who care for our most vulnerable.”
MP Sidhu also highlighted significant investments in Budget 2025 that will benefit Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. These include $25 million for Toronto Metropolitan University’s new medical school—the first built in the GTA in more than a century—and funding for state-of-the-art AI infrastructure at the University of Toronto.
“These investments will strengthen and streamline health care delivery, while ensuring our city and region remains at the forefront of innovation,” Sidhu added.
For the holiday season, warm wishes to residents of Brampton: “I wish everyone in Brampton South and across Canada happy holidays and a happy new year.”
