At the Standing Committee on Finance, I asked Melissa Secord, Executive Director at Celiac Canada, several questions on how we can reduce barriers to affordability and continue supporting Canadians living with celiac disease, including through possible tax reforms or increased supports in the National School Food Program that are focused on inclusivity.
In February 2026, I tabled a petition in the House of Commons calling for a simple, refundable $1,000 tax credit for Canadians living with celiac disease—which received over 33,000 signatures from across the nation.
