It was a privilege to represent Canada and Brampton South alongside my Canadian parliamentary colleagues at the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
The conference brought together parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth to exchange perspectives, share best practices, and discuss ways to strengthen democratic institutions and respond to the challenges facing communities around the world.
Our discussions highlighted the importance of strong parliamentary institutions, international cooperation, and effective governance in building more resilient and inclusive societies. The conference also provided an opportunity to learn from the experiences of parliamentary colleagues from across the Commonwealth and to share Canada’s own perspectives and experiences.
I was proud to contribute to these important conversations alongside Canada’s delegation and to help strengthen the relationships between Canada and our Commonwealth partners. Opportunities like this allow us to learn from one another, identify areas of common ground, and continue working together toward stronger institutions and better outcomes for the people we serve.
