Minister Mary NG Visits Brampton To Meet Small Business Owners
November 13, 2018

Brampton, ON – Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South, welcomed the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, the Honourable Mary Ng, to her riding of Brampton South for a meeting with Brampton’s local business owners. The meeting provided an opportunity for MP Sidhu and Minister Ng to hear directly from the local small business community, gather feedback, and share information on Government of Canada programs to help small businesses start up, scale up and access new markets.
The meeting took place in the heart of downtown Brampton with attendance from local small business owners, the technology and startup community, women’s organizations, and small business groups and associations.
“Small businesses make up 98% of all Canadian businesses. They are the restaurants, stores, services and artists we love and they are the backbone of our economy” said MP Sidhu. “We are committed to meeting directly with the people that know the issues best and remaining accessible and responsive to the needs of Canadians. That’s why we are working hard to reduce red tape and make it easier for small business owners to focus on creating jobs and prosperity”.
“This year we have already cut taxes for small businesses by lowering the small business tax rate to 9% and worked with payment card companies to lower the fees being charged to businesses on customer’s usage of credit cards; representing savings of approximately $7,500” MP Sidhu concluded.
Earlier in the day, Minister Ng met with the Brampton Board of Trade to deliver remarks and hold a Q&A session
