Member of Parliament for Brampton South Sonia Sidhu addressed the first batch of students at accelerated cybersecurity training orientation session in Brampton South. MP Sidhu was proud of her government’s work in supporting businesses and youth with job creation, technology adoption, scale-up and investments.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonia Sidhu said, “Rapid growth in the digital economy is continuing, and this means that cybersecurity has become a priority for households, businesses and certainly for governments! Experts with cyber security skills will continue to be in demand and cyber security innovation must keep pace with technological change as new risks present themselves. With growing risks, there is a need for world-class cybersecurity – and I have always believed that Brampton can lead the way!”
Further, she added, “We had many important discussions with our great partners – Ryerson University – Dr. Mohamed Lachemi and his entire team – and I want to thank him once again for his vision and confidence in Brampton as a great location for the Cybersecurity Catalyst.”
Last week, the first orientation class for Cybersecurity Training program was organised by Ryerson University, where 60 talented students, a balanced mix of women, new Canadians and workers seeking a new career, all from various backgrounds will be able to learn about digital world and cybersecurity.
