Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South, has been a champion for Canadians with diabetes, advocating for funding, research, awareness, and a national framework.
MP Sonia Sidhu’s Private Members’ Bill C-237, An Act to establish a national framework for diabetes passed final vote in Senate.
It was passed unanimously in the House of Commons. Now, it is moving on to receive the Royal Assent.
In March, MP Sonia Sidhu’s Bill C-237 was passed unanimously at second reading and also passed at the committee stage.
Before entering politics, MP Sidhu served as a diabetes educator and is now a proud member of the Standing Committee on Health. She is also the Chair of the All-Party Caucus on Diabetes.
