“Federal Government's Transformational Initiatives Benefiting Families in Brampton and Across Canada” – Sonia Sidhu
January 6, 2025

MP Sonia Sidhu (Brampton South) is proud to share information on the federal government's initiatives that have significantly improved the lives of families in Brampton and across Canada. These initiatives reflect our commitment to supporting families, enhancing health and well-being, and building a stronger Canada.

National Childcare System
The introduction of the first National Childcare System has drastically reduced childcare costs, saving parents in Peel up to $15,000 in fees. This system has provided much-needed relief for working families and has made quality childcare more accessible to all.

Canada School Food Program
The transformative Canada School Food Program now provides healthy meals to 160,000 children in Ontario. This program ensures that children receive the nutrition they need to thrive and succeed academically.

Canadian Dental Care Plan
Through the Canadian Dental Care Plan, more than 1.2 million Canadians have already received essential dental care. This initiative has improved the overall health and well-being of many Canadians, preventing serious dental issues and promoting better health outcomes.

National Pharmacare Program
The National Pharmacare Program provides access to essential medications, including those for diabetes treatment. This initiative will help 3.8 million Canadians living with diabetes get the medication they need, reducing the risk of serious health complications and improving their quality of life.

"We have made a tangible difference in the lives of Canadians," said MP Sonia Sidhu. "I am committed to continuing our efforts to support families and build a stronger Canada."
