In June 2026, MP Sonia Sidhu joined colleagues and community partners at BHive Innovation & Training Hub in Brampton to celebrate a significant investment that will help local businesses harness the power of artificial intelligence, drive innovation, and compete in a rapidly changing economy.
Through a $5.2 million investment from the Government of Canada through FedDev Ontario, Brampton businesses will have access to new tools, expertise, and resources to strengthen their operations, adopt emerging technologies, and pursue new opportunities for growth.
A key part of this investment is the $2.7 million BNext AI Program, delivered through a partnership between the City of Brampton and BHive. The program supports the Government of Canada’s AI strategy, AI for All, by helping small and medium-sized businesses move from exploring AI to putting it into practice. Through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and implementation support, businesses will be able to adopt practical AI solutions that improve productivity, strengthen competitiveness, and create new opportunities for growth.
The investment also includes the $2.5 million Brampton Business Growth Accelerator, led by Invest Brampton, which will help businesses diversify markets, strengthen supply chains, access procurement opportunities, and expand into emerging sectors such as advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defence.
Artificial intelligence is transforming the way businesses operate, and ensuring Canadian companies have the tools to adapt and innovate is essential to building a stronger economy. Through investments like BNext AI, the Government of Canada is helping Brampton businesses embrace new technologies, create good jobs, and remain leaders in the industries of tomorrow.
