Hundreds of seniors from across Brampton South came together today for the Annual Seniors Fair hosted by Member of Parliament Sonia Sidhu at the Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre. The event connected seniors with essential information, services, and supports designed to help them stay informed, healthy, and engaged in the community.
MP Sidhu welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of ensuring that our seniors can easily access the programs and benefits available to them. “Our seniors are the pillars of our community,” said MP Sidhu. “Today’s fair reflects our commitment to supporting their well‑being by bringing vital resources directly to them. I am grateful to all our partners who joined us in empowering seniors with information, safety tools, and community connections.”
Mayor Patrick Brown, along with Councillors Dennis Keenan, Navjit Kaur Brar, and Martin Medeiros, provided remarks and highlighted the City of Brampton’s ongoing efforts to enhance senior‑focused services and recreational opportunities. City representatives were on site to share information on municipal programs, accessibility supports, and upcoming initiatives for older adults.
Peel Regional Police also participated, offering important safety guidance and resources to help seniors protect themselves from fraud, scams, and other risks.
A wide range of community organizations contributed to the event, including Service Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), PCHS, INDUS, ACHEV, Bike Brampton, T1D, FSP, and many others. Their participation ensured that seniors could directly access expertise on federal programs, health services, financial supports, active living, community engagement opportunities and more.
“We deeply appreciate our community partners for dedicating their time and expertise to Brampton South’s seniors,” MP Sidhu added. “Their collaboration ensures that seniors in our community continue to feel supported, connected, and empowered.”
The Annual Seniors Fair remains a cornerstone event for seniors in Brampton South, offering a one‑stop opportunity to learn, connect, and discover programs that enrich their lives.
